Midwifery Services $5500*

Our midwifery services consists of personalized care from your midwives, Megan and Brooke. Our home birth services include prenatal care, your labor and birth, and postpartum care through 6 weeks. As your midwives, we see you every 4 weeks from conception through 32 weeks, then every 2 weeks from 32-36 weeks, and weekly from 36 weeks until birth. We are available for you throughout your pregnancy by phone, text, or email to answer questions and offer support. We are on-call 24/7 for your labor and birth between weeks 35-43, excited to jump in our cars and head to your home when the time arrives! In the postpartum, we provide care to both mom and baby through 6-8 weeks. We often are the only care provider baby sees until their 2 month check up with a pediatrician. We believe the postpartum period is an extremely important healing, bonding, and learning time for both mom and baby. We work with our families to try to safeguard this time; coming to your house 3 times in the first week to check in clinically and emotionally on mom and baby, offer breastfeeding support, and providing guidance, as needed, to the new family. Our midwifery services include hour long appointments where we get to know each other and have the opportunity to build a mutually trusting relationship and a confident home birth team.  Development of these trusting relationships allows us the ability to work together toward the family's birthing goals.

*The average cost of a hospital birth in Portland is $9,600, according to Time magazine.

Doula services $1200

As your doulas, we will provide prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. We like to meet with clients twice prenatally, and once in the postpartum period. Prenatally, we will discuss your birth options and preferences, practice some labor coping techniques, and answer any questions you have going into your birth. During the early part of labor, one of us may come to your home to provide support or meet you at the hospital. Throughout your labor, we will provide hands on support, guidance, and encouragement in many different ways. One of our jobs will be to facilitate open and clear communication between you and your care providers and help answer your questions as labor progresses. We encourage partners to be as involved as they are able throughout the labor and birth and help offer suggestions when needed. In the postpartum, we provide a home visit around 3-5 days to ensure breastfeeding is going well and that you are healing properly.

Placental encapsulation $200

Placental encapsulation has been shown to reduce the incidence of postpartum depression, replenish iron stores, increase energy, and even help with menstrual or menopausal symptoms. The placenta is cut up, dehydrated, ground, and put into capsules that are typically taken daily for the first 6 weeks, depending on the size of the placenta. Arrangements will be made to collect your placenta from wherever you are birthing, usually shortly after the birth. Within five days we will deliver a pretty jar full of nutrient dense capsules!
